Well, had another great week. Lost just over 5 lbs! I am edging ever so close to being “2” something! I can’t wait to never have to say 300 ever again! I got my blood test results and I am doing great overall, but I had a few deficiencies. My iron is low but that is a chronic issue for me. I have to start back on Iron pills plus a chewable Vit C. In addition, my Vit D was low so I have to add that to my regimen. The problem with all these pills is one can’t be taken with the other, and another can’t be taken within x number of hours of the other one and on top of that I have to take my thyroid pill every morning and can’t eat for at least 1 hour! I think I need a planner just to plan out my day in regards to pills! It’s all good though. Over time (like a couple years) when eating is easier then bariatric patients will have less need for supplemental vitamins. It’s also very important to make sure that anything I eat is healthy because food is the best source of vitamins and minerals. I used to live to eat, now I eat to live!

Nothing spectacular on the exercise side of things. I did slightly improve my steps. I finally got to my doctor to discuss pains I am having in one of my elbows, one of my knees and my nerve issues in my left food. She referred me to two separate ortho doctors. One for the elbow and one for the knee. I have seen the elbow doctor. Was diagnosed with what is commonly called Tennis Elbow and Golfers elbow. I have both, because the tendonitis is on both sides of my elbow. So I have the cute little brace that I wear around my forearm and I have exercises to do and when I go to the gym I have to put heat on my elbow before I exercise and an ice pack on it after. Nothing too serious. Doctor just said these things can take a while, but if I do what I am supposed to do it will gradually get better.
I am also waiting to hear back from my primary regarding my issue with my left food. I had a severe Sciatic Nerve episode that lasted so long that I have possible permanent nerve damage in my foot. It hurts pretty bad when I exercise. Crazy cause my foot is mostly numb but it hurts. Go figure! She is getting the results of an MRI I had done back when I was having the issues. She wants to see what is going on in my back. She is worried because I am having many nights where I am getting leg cramps in the muscles of my left foot and lower leg and I can’t bend my toes the way I should be. Once she gets my results we will make an action plan, but in the meantime I am back taking Gabapentin to help with the nerve pain.
Absolutely none of this is discouraging. I abuse my body quite a bit carrying around that weight so I knew I would have some issues to deal with. I am confident that I will overcome this and complete my journey. I have 289 days until I make my hike. I am so excited. I would love a whole group of supporters there with me!
Love, love, love the positivity in this post and it is amazing to see those pounds flying off of you thanks to your hard work! Can’t wait for our hike in 289 days 🙂
