The Big DaySeptember 4, 2021
The big day is here.

Weekly Check-ins

Weight Log
Exercise Log (walking)

Well, I told you I would be accountable regarding exercise so here is my exercise log as well as my weight log. I am happy with my weight loss. I have a sinking feeling that my surgeon may not be so happy. If I remember correctly she said most of her patients lose 15% of their weight by their 1 month post op appt. I would have to lose 15 lbs by next week and that isn’t happening. But you know what. I will not let her get to me. I am happy with my progress and no one is going to take that away from me. I know I should have been doing better with exercise, but I am motivated now. I am also back on track doing my strength training using my resistance band. I may start tracking that as well. I won’t always track, but seeing what I accomplish motivates me and it helps me until I am doing things regularly. I will be posting a screen shot of my walking at the end of each day on my Instagram. If you want to see those daily posts please follow me on Instagram @myjourneytothemountain. The more people I know are seeing my updates gives me lots of motivation to keep doing better and better.

A New Day a New Attitude

I picked the cover photo for this post for a reason. My last post mentioned that I was struggling a bit. I was feeling negative and even said out loud that I wished I had never had this surgery. I also said that I knew I wouldn’t feel like that the next day. I was right. I don’t feel like that. I was just having a bad day. When I saw this picture it reminded me of my journey. I journey is just that. A journey. Journeys don’t happen overnight and on a journey there are bound to be bumps along the way. That day was just a bump in the road, but I still have my eye on the prize.

The Hike

I have 352 days to get my mind, body and soul ready for this hike. I know I can do it. I have at least 2 friends from here is SC that are going to be flying out to Utah with me to make this hike and I will have some people from Utah that will be there with me as well. It is going to be amazing.

I would love to hear from anyone who has been on their own journey, no matter what your end goal was. Weight loss, stop smoking, stop drinking, even to stop biting your nails. No journey is too big or too small and I want to hear your stories. If you want to share, please comment on this post so that I can either rejoice with you that you made it or cheer you on if you are still on your journey.
